FAQs

An ERC is not a resume but it will enhance your resume. Your resume includes experience that you believe is important to a potential employer but many people falsify the information contained in their resume. Your E Reference Check provides responses directly from your professional contacts and highlights the professional experience you have reported in your resume. We will work with you to engage supervisors, co-workers, teachers, professors, internship and volunteer coordinators and others with whom you have interacted. You can lock in evaluations from references that have firsthand knowledge of your abilities and your experience before they are lost or forgotten.

We will walk you through the steps to add information for each reference. You must have your reference’s email address. Clicking on question mark symbols will guide you and answer any questions you may have for each step.
Entries you make during this process will be saved so you may leave and return without losing any data. When you have completed the entries for your references, careerandtalenthub will generate questions based on the type of reference and your interaction with them. Your reference questions can be customized to your needs. You can delete questions from our proposed question list. Best of all, you can add questions that are specific to your reference to highlight areas of interest you believe will be important for a future employer or recruiter to review. Reference will receive the questionnaire you created as a PDF form-filler via email.

Your references can complete the entries in just a couple of minutes on their phone or desktop. Career and Talent Hub manages and compiles responses from your references and creates an easy to read and professional E-Reference Check (ERC) report that will confirm the experiences you are providing in your resume. We highly recommend that you call your references in advance to discuss your interaction with them and review particular areas of interest that you wish to highlight on your reference report.

You spend a great deal of time crafting a resume, searching job boards and submitting employment applications. It’s a lot of work. The job you really want may only come around once so if that opportunity is lost, your future can be negatively impacted. Don’t leave it up to chance or have your resume or application get overlooked. The employment application process is under stress. There are many applicants for the same position and employers must find a way to narrow down the field of candidates to the few finalists for a position. Recruiters do not have the time to sort through every resume and candidates may never have an opportunity to provide confirmation of their experience and abilities during the application process.

Your E-Reference Check can be submitted when you visit a job fair, submit a resume, apply for a job, and even when applying online. This additional validation of your professional experience can help you stand out from the crowd.

Your ERC report will include a unique URL, which you can find highlighted in blue at the top of your report. You can copy and paste this URL into your resume so that recruiters and employers can access your detailed report. With just one click, the recruiter or hiring manager can view recommendations provided by people with firsthand knowledge of the work experiences you have listed on your resume. The URL can also be included with employment applications even when applying online or emailed to a recruiter or hiring manager. The URL can be included in your LinkedIn account or other social media sites.

Recruiters will be concerned about the validity of your references. We highly recommend that you only provide business email addresses and phone numbers for your reference to add more credibility. To add an additional layer of validation, include the URL link to your reference’s LinkedIn account. The LinkedIn account and the business email address will confirm the identity of your reference. You can add any other pertinent information relating to your references to help confirm the validity of each.

If you do not have this information at the time you add your references, entries you make will be saved. You can return to your account at a later time and add additional information about your references.

The first step is to enter information about your references. You must have your reference’s email address to receive your E-Reference Check questionnaire. There are “?” symbols at each step in the process you can click during the process to get answers to your questions.

When you have completed the entries for each reference, careeerandtalenthub will generate your questions based on the type of reference and your interaction with them. You have the option to delete any of the questions that are automatically created and you can also add additional questions that will allow your reference to highlight specific experiences for a recruiter to review.

Third, a PDF form filler questionnaire will be generated and then emailed to your references. The PDF form filler can be completed by your references on a phone, tablet or computer in just minutes. Responses from references are compiled into an easy to read and mobile report.
